Un presagio da Hafez
Ghazal 287
O you, all of whose form delights, and every part of you is sweet,
my heart rejoices in your sweet, sugar-savouring coquetry.
Like a fresh rose-petal, your being is delicate and fine;
like Eden's meadow-cypress, your whole form is sweet.
Your manner and your airs are sweet, your down and mole are comely;
your eye and brow are fair, your stature and your bearing sweet.
The rose-garden of my fancy is filled with your figures,
and the nostril of my heart delights in your jasmine-brushing tress.
On love's road, where there is no passage free of calamity's flood,
I have made my mind rejoice in the longing for you.
What shall I say of the sugar of your eye, which, in its languor,
makes my very pain sweet to me from your lovely face.
In the wilderness of seeking, though on every side lies peril,
heart-lost Hafez goes his way, rejoicing in devotion to you.
