Un presagio da Hafez
Ghazal 251
It is the night of union, and the scroll of parting is folded away;
'Peace shall be therein until the breaking of the dawn.'
O heart, be firm of foot in the way of love,
for on this road no labor is left without reward.
I will not repent of the rogue's abandon,
'though you afflict me with parting and with stoning.'
Rise, O bright dawn, for God's sake,
for very dark I find the night of parting.
My heart is gone, and I have not seen the Beloved's face;
alas at this oppression, ah at this affliction!
Would you have fidelity? Then be a bearer of cruelty, Hafez,
'for gain and loss alike are in the trade.'
