Un presagio da Hafez
Ghazal 262
Who now will tell the state of the blood-hearted again,
and who will claim the jar's spilt blood from the sphere again?
Let it hang its head in shame before the wine-worshippers' eye,
if the drunken narcissus dare to bloom again.
Save Plato, that dweller within the wine-jar's depth,
who will unfold to us the secret of wisdom again?
Whoever, like the tulip, has passed the cup around,
from this world's cruelty must wash his face in blood again.
My heart will no more open, like a bud, unless
a goblet, breathing from her lip, should scent it again.
Since the harp behind the veil has spoken words too many,
cut its strings, that it may not wail again.
Round the Sacred House of the wine-jar, Hafez still,
if death do not take him, will circle again.
