← Fāl-e Hāfez
Un presagio da Hafez

Ghazal 13

Dawn breaks, and the cloud has bound on its turban;
the morning-draught, the morning-draught, O companions!
The dew is dripping on the tulip's cheek;
wine, wine, O beloved ones!
From the meadow blows a breeze of paradise;
come then, drink, breath by breath, the pure wine.
The rose has raised an emerald throne in the meadow;
lay hold of the wine, like a fiery ruby.
Again they have barred the tavern door;
open it, O Opener of doors!
Your lip and teeth hold the rights of salt
upon our souls and our roasting breasts.
In such a season it is strange indeed
that they should shut the wine-house in such haste.
Before the face of the fairy-formed cupbearer
drink, like Hafez, the pure wine.
