How ITIPS honors copyright: BookLab and the public domain

BookLab exists to make the world's literary heritage free to everyone. That promise rests on a simple rule: we publish only works that are in the public domain — texts whose copyright has expired, or that were never protected in the first place.

Our sources are the great public-domain libraries: Project Gutenberg for texts, Wikisource for carefully transcribed editions, and LibriVox for volunteer-read audiobooks. Every work we present can be traced back to one of them.

We never host works that remain under copyright. When a masterpiece is still protected, we may describe it and point you to its rightful publisher — but we will not reproduce it. It is a line we do not cross.

If you ever believe something in BookLab infringes a valid copyright, tell us. We review every report and remove anything in question promptly. Culture belongs to everyone — and honoring the people who make it is part of keeping it free.
